Ruby Davis
1931 - 2012

Ruby Louise Davis, 80 year old Ft. Gibson resident, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Ruby was born on Sunday, August 16, 1931 in Garden City,Kansas to Ted and Lena (Thomas) Foreman. She grew up in Finney Co. where she received her education, graduating from Pierceville High School in the late 1940's. Ruby attended one year of college. She later met, fell in love and married Earnest Clay Davis, Saturday, October 29, 1949. Ruby was a homemaker, raising seven children. Later in life, she was a linen clerk at St. Catherine's Hospital where she retired. Ruby loved playing cards,having get together's and enjoying reunions with her siblings, children and all her grandchildren, creating new memories. She became a resident of Ft.Gibson, OK four years ago. Ruby was a member of the Federated Church in Pierceville, Ks. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Earnest Davis; father, Ted Foreman; mother, Lena Horton; sister, Ida Lee Foreman; and infant daughter Catherine Davis. Ruby is lovingly survived by her sons, Howard Davis of Montezuma, KS and David Davis of Wichita,KS; daughters, Bonnie Woods and Diane Lee of Garden City, KS, Donna Schwaller of Chicholm, MN, Connie Knoll of Blanchard, OK and Vicky Waltz of Ft. Gibson, OK; sisters, Roberta Allen of Garden City, KS; Mary Erker of Security, COand Betty McCorkle of Trinidad, CO.; brothers, Bill Horton of Carlinville, IL and Louis Horton of Buffalo, MN.; 21 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended relativesand a lifetime of friends. In honoring the life of Ruby, in lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association 1010 E. 8th Street, Tulsa, OK 74120-4404. Ruby's family will greet friends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Pierceville Community Center with afamily graveside following in the Pierceville Cemetery.
