Obituary for Blanche Bradley

Blanche Bradley, longtime Muskogee resident, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Muskogee. She was born on Thursday, November 10, 1932 to Jess and Leona (Morgan) Hogan in Checotah, OK. She grew up in Checotah where she attended school, graduating from Checotah High School in 1950. After attending Draughon Business College she went to work for the phone company in 1951 as an operator. Blanche married the love of her life, James Bradley, Jr., on Thursday, February 14, 1952 at Central Baptist Church in Muskogee spending 66 wonderful years together. She transferred to a different phone company location in Muskogee where she worked for 35 years. She worked at Muskogee Regional Medical Center as the personnel assistant. In 1997 Blanche began working for the City of Muskogee as a Recreation Leader for the Kiwanis Senior Citizen Center, retiring on Friday, November 3, 2017. She loved spending time quilting, working puzzles, adult coloring, flower gardening and her favorite color was green. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Bradley on Thursday, May 31, 2018; her sister, Mary Jane White, her brothers, Winford Hogan, Ralph Hogan, and her brother-in-law, Charles White. She is lovingly survived by her brother, Lucian Hogan of Checotah; her sister-in-law, Ruby Hogan of Placerville, CA; her nieces, Juanita Ridgeway of Wichita, KS, Dr. Deborah White of Oklahoma City, OK, Brenda Bradley Smith and her husband Wayne of Baytown, TX, Janet Hogan-Maurer and her husband Andy of Escondido, CA, Jeanne Haley and her husband Robert of Madera, CA, Nona Comstock and her husband Nick of Placerville, CA; her nephews, Christopher James Guy Bradley and his wife Jo of Lubbock, TX, Tom White of Wichita, KS, Reverend Stephen White and his wife Mary of Prescott, AZ, John White and his wife Jane of Leawood, KS, Dale Hogan and his wife Rachael of Springfield IL, David Hogan of Checotah, and many other family members and friends. As you honor the life of Blanche, in lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made in her memory to the Timothy Baptist Church, 5530 W. Okmulgee, Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401.
